Taking pictures has been an interest for many years.
Since digital has made taking photos almost cost free once the camera is acquired, the hobby has tended to become more important - although like most photographers I go through cycles where I lose interest to some extent - then maybe a new camera or technique will spark things off again!
Hall Farm is a fairly typical upland unit for the North York Moors.
The main enterprise is Suckler cows producing around 50 calves per year.
There are also about 80 ewes but they do not go on the moor even though we have rights to graze about 250 up there.
The discover more button will take you to the Farm blog which was started January 2013.
Westerdale is a village and Dale at the head of the Esk Valley.
Although very scenic it can also seem quite remote especially in the depths of winter.
I've always had an interest in biking but in recent years time seems limited and distances travelled each year have dropped away far more than I would like.
In the past European camping trips were a great favourite and I have visited France, Spain, Holland, Begium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
At the moment I have a Yamaha BT1100 which I bought new in 2006, and a recently acquired Honda CRF250L trail bike.
This has proved more fun than expected and is very economical to run - the big Yamaha gets even less use just now.
